My career path... I've been lucky enough to navigate a route that allows me to do whatever I think is interesting and important at the time. I grew up in England and moved to the US to go to grad school in psychology at UC Berkeley; there I started studying personality in animals and how people are psychologically connected to the spaces they select and craft around themselves. I am now a faculty member in the department of psychology at the University of Texas, where I have continued pursuing both these topics. Over the past four years I have been working on a book, "Snoop," that draws together my empirical studies of what we reveal (deliberately & inadvertently) about ourselves in our spaces. I construe "spaces" very broadly to include contexts that range from bedrooms and offices to websites, music collections, and facebook profiles. To learn more, check out snoopology.com !
