I'm a social liberal (pro-queer rights, anti-racist, pro-gender equality, pro-free speech, etc) who believes in socialized government programs only where they are most effective (IE: socialized health insurance, socialized education, and a completely free and uncensored press). However, I do understand the power that an uninhibited market can have, and I believe that government oversight of programs like waste management, infrastructure development, and medical research (to a certain degree) is cumbersome and costly. Intellectual property law needs to be destroyed and rebuilt to accommodate the new technologies of the digital age. The drug war isn't about protecting US citizens, its about filling for-profit prisons with non-volent offenders. I'm anti-imperialist in every sense of the term, and I think that globalization is a great idea that has been corrupted by America's culturally hegemonic tendencies... it's a two way street, damnit! !
